Job description

​​Step Teachers are seeking a qualified teacher to work as an NTP Tutor in local schools, working with children in KS2/KS4 for Bodmin and the surrounding areas. The position of NTP will take place onsite.

The pupils have been specially selected to be part of the programme to help them catch up to their peers and rebuild their confidence. Therefore, they must have the same tutor for the entire duration of the assignment.

The rate of pay is £27 per hour.

To be an NTP Tutor you will need to have one of the following

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent

  • A degree in either Maths, English, Science, Humanities, or Modern Foreign Languages and strong tutoring experience.

The right candidate must...

  • Have strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and experience in tutoring or teaching in a classroom

  • Be flexible with the hours they can work and willing to commit to long-term

  • Be Confident in behavioural management skills. 

  • Be able to think on their feet and use different scaffolding strategies to teach the pupils

  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
