PE Teachers
Job description
Step Teachers are seeking enthusiastic PE Teachers for daily supply roles around Barnet and the surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible.
This opportunity is within a network of vibrant and inclusive secondary schools that promote high standards of teaching and learning. Pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience, and a love for physical activity. Staff are supported through strong leadership and a collaborative environment that values professional development and pupil well-being.
PE Teachers Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles
- Plan and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment
- Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities and events
- Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives
Ideal Candidate for PE Teacher Roles
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in Physical Education or a related subject
- Experience teaching PE in secondary schools
- Strong classroom management and communication skills as PE Teachers.
- Passion for promoting physical activity and student engagement
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
