Job description

We are currently shortlisting candidates for a position as Primary Teacher in either Reception or Key Stage 1 starting after the February half term. The role of Primary Teacher - Foundation/KS1 does have some flexibility due to existing staff and will be offered on a temp to perm basis.

  • NQT Primary Teachers are welcome to apply, provided they have training specific to the appropriate Key Stage
  • Primary Teachers wishing to apply for the Foundation Stage will be expected to demonstrate good knowledge of the current EYFS Framework
  • Although the post is offered on a contract basis in the first instance, the Head Teacher is far more interested in meeting Primary Teachers who are prepared to commit for the long term
  • You should be prepared to play a full and active role in the wider work of the school community

This is a slightly smaller than average school with a good academic record and very good parental feedback on their last Ofsted inspection. The Head Teacher has been at the school for over 15 years, starting as a class teacher, and she is passionate, supportive, and well liked by staff and parents alike. I have previously placed three teachers into contract posts at this school and all three had nothing but positive feedback on the working environment.

To be eligible to apply for this role through Step Teachers you will first need to undergo our registration process, which includes; a face-to-face interview, full referencing, qualification checks, Enhanced DBS check and other obligatory safeguarding checks as step teachers are committed to the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
