Reception Year Teacher
Job description
A school in Wood Green is seeking a creative, nurturing and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join a dedicated Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape children’s first experience of school, laying the foundations for a lifetime of learning.
The successful candidate will bring warmth, passion and a deep understanding of early childhood development, delivering a high-quality EYFS curriculum that supports every child to flourish. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Reception Year Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Foster a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports all areas of development.
Carry out regular observations and assessments to inform teaching and maintain accurate learning journals.
Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
Promote the school’s values and ensure high expectations for behaviour and progress.
Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to create a consistent and collaborative early years provision.
Ideal Reception Year Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and principles of child development.
A creative, flexible and caring approach to teaching.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience teaching in Early Years or Reception.
