Room Leader – Full-time, permanent role starting February 2026
This nursery provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children feel safe, supported, and eager to explore. Staff build positive relationships with children and plan purposeful activities that promote early communication, independence, and curiosity. Leaders work closely with practitioners to maintain high standards of care and learning, ensuring children make steady progress in their early development.
Duties as Room Leader:
- Lead the daily running of a room for children aged 6 months to 1.5 years
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support early development
- Guide and support staff within the room to ensure consistent, high‑quality practice
- Work effectively with families and colleagues to support each child’s needs
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure children’s welfare is prioritised
- Contribute to observations, assessments, and planning cycles
- Support staff development and model best practice throughout the day
Ideal Room Leader:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification preferred
- Strong Level 2 candidates may be considered with a willingness to train
- Confident leading a small team and maintaining high standards
- Experience supporting children aged 6 months to 1.5 years
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Able to create a warm, caring, and engaging early years environment
- Flexible with hours, with availability for 8:00–18:00 shifts and an early Friday finish
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child development
- Reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic about early years education
