Step Teachers has been asked to recruit an SCMH LSA for a creative position at an inclusive school in Hertfordshire. The position is available from March and is currently of a temporary nature. The school is immersed in an undeniable air of diversity and pride in every individuals personal progression. As a SCMH LSA, you will be key in ensuring these ideal come to fruition.

  • To contribute to and actively support the overall ethos/work/aims of the School as a SCMH LSA.
  • To comply with, support and promote all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to child protection, equal opportunities, racial equality, health, safety and security, confidentiality, behaviour and data protection.
  • You should have a creative and thoughtful approach to curriculum planning, demonstrating the ability to incorporate national trends and data sets into your approach.
  • As a SCMH LSA you should be committed and flexible, able to work directly with the SENCO and with LSAs as required.
  • This position will involve some mainstream SEN teaching, therefore experience of teaching children with a variety of additional needs would be beneficial.
  • As a SCMH LSA you will have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and Educational Inclusion, and the needs of the more able and talented.
