Step Teachers are currently looking to hire a passionate, dynamic, and professional English Teacher to join a large, successful team based in one of our regular partner schools. As a member of the English Team, you will be responsible for delivering sessions to pupils in KS3 and KS4, preparing them for examinations, and ensuring that the standard of learning and progress is consistent with the high standards of the school. This is a full-time position and is initially set to start in January for 2 terms, with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. The school has specifically requested that the post holder holds full QTS, as well as a relevant degree in English. This post can be made available to both early career teachers and those who bring more experience; the focus will be on the candidate who appears to be the right fit for the school. If this sounds like the ideal post for you, then we would love to hear from you!
We are looking for candidates who can show evidence of:
  • A teaching qualification that grants QTS
  • A relevant degree in an English subject (Either Literature or Language.)
  • A professional teaching reference.
  • The ability to teach English up to KS4.
  • An excellent subject knowledge.
Based just outside of Plymouth, this popular school focuses on collaborative learning and coming together as a team. There is a friendly, community feeling where the emphasis is placed on developing positive relationships within the school, amongst the students and between staff and students. The school sets consistently high standards for all students and is strong on celebrating the successes and unique talents of every pupil.
