Job description

Step Teachers are seeking 2 qualified teachers looking to work as NTP Tutors in a local secondary school working with children in various year groups. Our partner school in Norfolk is looking for an onsite NTP tutor to teach groups of up to 6 pupils. 9:00am -13:00pm. The school is flexible with the 3 days the tutor can commit to.

The pupils have been specially selcted to be part of the programme to help them catch up to their peers. Therefore, continuity is very important to these children and the school.

This is a long term booking and expected to last at least 15 weeks.

The rate of pay will be £27 per hour.

Being an NTP tutor is convenient for qualified teachers who are looking to get back into work after periods of time away from teaching and want part-time, flexible hours to fit current commitments.

To be an NTP Tutor you will need to have one of the following:

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent

  • A Degree in either Maths, English, Science, Humanities or Modern Foreign Languages and strong tutoring experience.

The right candidate must...

  • Have strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and experience in tutoring or teaching in a classroom

  • Be flexible with the hours they can work and willing to commit to long-term

  • Be Confident in behavioural management skills. 

  • Be able to think on their feet and use different scaffolding strategies to teach the pupils

  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
