Job description

Step Teachers are currently working with an amazing Secondary school to locate a SEN TA who knows about working with Autism. The role is within the Teignmouth area and to start as soon as possible. 

The students are all the inheritors of the great ideas, writings, and discoveries of the past and the young people of Plymouth have a right to learn this knowledge. By learning the curriculum, the pupils will be provided with the knowledge and skills to succeed in life and make a positive contribution to society. The role of SEN TA is an excellent position for those looking to give back to those in extra need of assistance. In addition as an SEN TA, you will need particular knowledge working with students with Autism.

Role:

  • Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the class teacher

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school

  • Ability to support students and encourage their progression

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a secondary school or with school-aged children

  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable

  • Relevant experience working as an SEN TA

  • Living within or commutable distance from Teignmouth
