Secondary Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in King’s Lynn and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop confidence across a range of subjects.

Duties as Secondary Teaching Assistant:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils within secondary subjects
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
Support pupils with additional needs to help them fully participate in lessons
Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school expectations
Help prepare learning materials and contribute to classroom organisation
Promote positive communication, independence, and good learning habits
Monitor and record pupil progress and share observations with staff
Contribute to wider school routines during longer-term placements

Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience supporting pupils in a secondary school environment
Understanding of strategies for supporting mixed-ability groups and SEND learners
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships
Confident in supporting learning across a variety of subjects
Adaptable and proactive in different school settings
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Willingness to undertake additional training and development
