Job description
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm from January 2026

Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour and learning plans
- Work closely with teaching staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils in managing emotional regulation and social interactions
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and wider team
- Promote inclusion and encourage positive relationships within the school community
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Holds QTS or equivalent qualification
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Demonstrates strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
- Is confident supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups
- Shows empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to challenges
- Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
