SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm from January 2026

Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour and learning plans
Work closely with teaching staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment
Support pupils in managing emotional regulation and social interactions
Monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and wider team
Promote inclusion and encourage positive relationships within the school community

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Holds QTS or equivalent qualification
Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
Demonstrates strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
Is confident supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups
Shows empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to challenges
Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
