SEMH Teaching Assistant – Day-to-Day Supply, Starting Immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will work across multiple schools, providing day-to-day support with the potential for longer-term or permanent roles.

Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in classroom and small group settings
Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to ensure inclusive learning
Provide one-to-one support where required and help pupils engage with learning activities
Uphold safeguarding and welfare standards at all times

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable
Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies
Ability to build positive relationships and maintain a calm, supportive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or have one registered on the Update Service
