SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide full-time support for pupils with SEMH needs
Assist with behaviour regulation using consistent and supportive strategies
Work with pupils who may display emotional or challenging behaviours
Help deliver lesson activities and reinforce key learning points
Build positive relationships to support pupil engagement
Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams
Follow behaviour plans and personalised learning strategies
Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Strong SEMH experience is essential
Confident working with pupils who may be dysregulated or emotionally vulnerable
Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Capable of adapting support strategies to meet varied pupil needs
Proactive, reliable, and consistent in approach
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil well-being
