SEN 121 Support Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to provide targeted support for a pupil with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for inclusion and supporting individual learning journeys. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN 121 Support Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs, following guidance from the class teacher and SENCO.

• Assist the pupil with access to learning activities, both in class and through tailored interventions.

• Support the development of social, emotional, and behavioural skills.

• Implement strategies from individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to progress reviews.

• Foster a positive, consistent, and structured environment for the child to thrive.

 Ideal SEN 121 Support Assistant:

• Have experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.

• Be calm, patient and empathetic, with a nurturing approach.

• Demonstrate an understanding of a range of additional needs (e.g. autism, speech and language, ADHD).

• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and professionals as a SEN 121 Support Assistant.

• Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN certificate) or equivalent experience.
