Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to provide targeted support for a pupil with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for inclusion and supporting individual learning journeys. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN 121 Support Assistant:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs, following guidance from the class teacher and SENCO.
Assist the pupil with access to learning activities, both in class and through tailored interventions.
Support the development of social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
Implement strategies from individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to progress reviews.
Foster a positive, consistent, and structured environment for the child to thrive.
Ideal SEN 121 Support Assistant:
Have experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
Be calm, patient and empathetic, with a nurturing approach.
Demonstrate an understanding of a range of additional needs (e.g. autism, speech and language, ADHD).
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and professionals as a SEN 121 Support Assistant.
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN certificate) or equivalent experience.
