Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEN, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCO and other colleagues to develop and implement tailored learning strategies and interventions.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements of a SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a primary teaching background.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
