SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with special educational needs. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, both in class and through targeted interventions.

• Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and activities to meet individual needs.

• Work 1:1 with pupils or with small groups to help them access the curriculum and reach their potential.

• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, encouraging confidence and independence.

• Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

• Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to share progress and strategies.

• Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and on trips as required.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.

• A good understanding of different types of special educational needs and strategies to support them.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

• A patient, caring, and resilient attitude.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
