Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s learning and development journey. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs.

  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions and learning activities.

  • Support pupils with their social, emotional, and personal development, promoting independence and self-confidence.

  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.

  • Assist with classroom routines, adapting materials and resources to meet pupils’ needs.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or a similar setting) is highly desirable.

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting diverse learning needs.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to safeguarding.
