Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team, working closely with pupils who have special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners by helping them access education in a way that meets their individual needs. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised support plans.
Promote engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
Assist with classroom activities, behaviour management, and differentiated instruction.
Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development throughout the school day.
Maintain clear records and communicate effectively with staff and parents/carers when required.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working with children with SEN (in school, childcare, or care settings).
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient when facing challenges.
Have good communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Be flexible and willing to adapt to different needs and routines.
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.
