SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Permanent, 31.25 hours per week starting February 2026

Duties as SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND needs, ensuring engagement and progress
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual needs
Support the pupil in developing social and communication skills
Maintain accurate records and liaise with the SENCO and teaching staff
Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure the welfare of all pupils

Ideal SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary setting
Strong understanding of strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs
Ability to build positive relationships and encourage independence
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
