Job description

Are you an experienced and confident SEND Coordinator looking for a new full-time role? Step Teachers are working with a "Good" Ofsted-rated Primary School in Barnet to find an SEND Coordinator and Inclusion Lead to join their team in September 2024. The school are eager to find someone who can play a pivotal role in ensuring that children with special educational needs and disabilities receive the support that they need to reach their full potential.

SEND Coordiator - Role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the school’s SEND policies.
  • Coordinate the identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create individual education plans.
  • Monitor the progress of pupils with SEND, reviewing and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Act as a key point of contact for parents/carers, fostering positive relationships and facilitating effective communication.

SEND Coordinator - Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Hold a National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) qualification
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Have recent experience as a SEN Coordinator in a primary school.
