Job description
SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temporary and ongoing, starting as soon as possible
This opportunity is ideal for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs across mixed age groups. The role is temporary and ongoing, starting as soon as possible.
The school provides a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to be confident, independent learners. Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with SEND across mixed age groups in accessing the curriculum
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual needs
- Assist the class teacher in implementing EHCP targets and differentiated activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Liaise with SENCO and other professionals to support pupil progress
- Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Proven experience supporting children with SEND in school settings
- Understanding of a range of special educational needs and strategies to support them
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant
- Ability to work flexibly across different age groups and learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- A proactive, patient and professional approach to supporting pupils
