SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time and part-time roles available from ASAP
 
We are currently seeking compassionate and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs across schools in Hayes and the surrounding areas. These flexible opportunities are ideal for individuals looking to start their career in education, and while no formal experience is required, exposure to autism is considered an advantage.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support
  • Help pupils engage with the curriculum and develop independence
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • No formal experience required, but exposure to autism is an advantage
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people with SEND
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
