SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

Provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs
Work confidently with male students and build positive working relationships
Use strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm learning environment
Support learning activities and help reinforce key lesson content
Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
Assist with personalised learning plans and emotional regulation strategies
Promote positive engagement, resilience, and routine
Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
Confident working with male students
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situations
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptable and proactive approach to supporting individual needs
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
Reliable, consistent, and able to build trust with pupils
