SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

Support pupils with SEND needs across the school
Provide full-time targeted support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Assist with lesson delivery and reinforce key learning tasks
Follow behaviour and support plans to promote emotional regulation
Work flexibly and adapt to support different year groups when required
Collaborate with teachers and additional adults to maintain consistent routines
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil well‑being

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

Strong SEND experience is essential
Confident supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
Able to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations
Good communication and teamwork skills
Proactive, resilient, and adaptable when supporting different age groups
Able to follow guidance from teachers and SEN staff
Reliable, positive, and committed to supporting pupil development
Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
