Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive both academically and emotionally. Starting ASAP.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs
Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs
Foster a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Assist with personal care and mobility, where required
Monitor and record pupil progress and share feedback with the class teacher and SENCO
Contribute to the planning and review of individual learning plans and support strategies
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language)
A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
The ability to remain calm and positive under pressure
Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to inclusion
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable
