Job description

Step Teachers are currently looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our pool of supply staff and support students on a 1:1 basis in schools around Enfield.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with a range of special educational needs

  • Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment

  • Help students stay focused, engaged, and motivated in class

  • Support with academic, social, and emotional development

  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and SENCOs to ensure consistent support

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Experience working with children with SEND (preferred but not essential)

  • A patient, caring, and resilient attitude as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Commitment to making a difference in children’s learning and well-being
