Job description

SEND Teaching Assistant – Day-to-day supply from as soon as possible
 
These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be working across a range of primary schools in Waltham Forest and nearby areas, supporting pupils with special educational needs and helping to create inclusive learning environments.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Assist with personalised learning plans and interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress
  • Help manage classroom routines and transitions
  • Uphold safeguarding and school policies consistently

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in UK primary schools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Ability to adapt to different pupil needs and school environments
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • HLTA qualification or relevant training is desirable
  • Passionate about inclusive education and pupil development
