Job description
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in mainstream or specialist settings
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Support pupils with personal care and mobility needs where required
- Contribute to observations and progress tracking
- Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting
- Understanding of EHCPs, differentiation, and inclusive practice
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
