Job description

SEND Teaching Assistants – Supply roles in Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas, starting ASAP

These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas. You will work with pupils who have special educational needs, supporting their learning and well-being in a range of classroom environments.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required
  • Encourage independence and social interaction among pupils
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND (school or care setting)
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, or other needs
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
