If you’re confident in your teaching ability as well as your skills as a manager, leader and organiser then this opportunity just might be for you. An Oftsed ‘Good‘ school in East Hertfordshire is looking to employ a subject leader of German for the new academic year 2019/20. The ideal candidate will be experienced teaching German, though not necessarily leading the subject, so if you’re looking for your first step up, StepTeachers is here to provide. Your key features will be that you are: motivated, inspiring, well-organised and ambitious; if you have hopes of leading a whole faculty some day, this is certainly an opportunity not to be missed!

Behaviour at the school is generally very good, we’ve had a little to no negative feedback from teachers on supply and there are some very effective procedures in place to deal with students who perhaps aren’t following the rules. As a subject leader for German you can expect to be working with a fully supportive senior leadership team as well as pleasant and welcoming teaching staff who, currently, all offer two language subjects; from September 2019 these language subjects will consist of: French, German and Spanish to KS5 as well as Italian and Mandarin as subsidiary subjects. So if you know your ola’s, your ni hao’s, bonjour‘s and bonjourno’s as well as your guten morgen’s then go ahead and click apply you spectacular multi-linguist you!

With all of this you of course need to know the salary being offered to the right subject leader of German – MPS and UPS are available as well as a TLR, which is currently offered as TLR2a and all on the Fringe London scale; the school are flexible for the right candidate, so you exceptional linguists out there get your CVs over!

All candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to join an Umbrella Company.
