Job description

Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing starting January 2026

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a school that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Duties as Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils across primary year groups
  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work flexibly across different year groups and adapt to varying needs
  • Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing practices across the school

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent) is desirable
  • Previous experience working with pupils in a school setting
  • Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and adapt to changing requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of strategies to support diverse learning needs
  • Committed to promoting inclusion and safeguarding children
