Job description

Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting as soon as possible

Leaders work collaboratively with practitioners to maintain high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, motivated, and able to make steady progress. Duties as Teaching Assistant:

  • Support learning across primary and secondary age groups
  • Assist with whole-class, small‑group, and 1:1 support
  • Reinforce lesson content and help pupils stay focused
  • Support pupils with SEND and varied learning needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and follow established routines
  • Help prepare learning resources and assist teaching staff
  • Contribute to pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil well‑being

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with primary and/or secondary pupils
  • Confident supporting a range of needs, including SEND
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and proactive in supporting learning
  • Able to follow direction while using initiative
  • Reliable, nurturing, and committed to pupil success
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
