Job description
Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils across multiple environments, helping them access learning effectively and develop confidence.
Duties as Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging learning activities across subjects
- Help implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Support pupils with additional needs when required
- Promote an inclusive and positive classroom environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with teaching staff
- Contribute to wider school activities when placed in longer-term roles
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting pupils in a secondary school setting
- Understanding of strategies for supporting students with mixed learning needs
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Adaptability across different classrooms, departments, and year groups
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Willingness to undertake further training and development
