Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Textiles Teacher to work in a Secondary School in Cheshunt. This Textiles Teacher role is full time and starting from April and is a full time position, initially for one academic term with the view to being extended into the new academic year.

The position is at a combined Secondary School and Sixth Form, and strives to provide an inclusive curriculum that allows every individual to reach their full potential. The school are looking for a teacher who can make an impact in the school and help to create growing learning environment.

Textiles Teacher Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Textiles and Design Technology curriculum
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Textile Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Textiles Teacher
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant ICT or Computer Science related degree is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable
