I would like to recruit a Year 1 Primary Teacher for a part time post in Welwyn Garden City starting at the end of March. The position of Year 1 Primary Teacher is to cover a maternity leave and is expected to run until December 2020 in the first instance. The Head Teacher has told me that she is happy to meet with newly qualified primary teachers in particular as she will be recruiting for permanent staff in the near future and likes to support and nurture staff from within the school.
- Primary Teachers with a sound knowledge of the phonics screening would be at an advantage for this post
- The school is very supportive and the succesful Primary Teacher would be sharing the class with a member of SLT
- The Head would prefer candidates who would consider staying on beyond the initial contract period
- Knowledge of Read Write Inc would be helpful but not essential
This is a very good school with a good academic record and a very supportive group of parents. Levels of staff turnover are low as teachers tend to put down roots in what is a happy and well resourced teaching environment. The most recent Ofsted inspection highlighted the excellent behaviour of pupils who demonstrated high levels of respect for each other as well as eaching and support staff.
Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
