Job Opportunity: Year 1 Teacher

Are you passionate about shaping young minds and creating a positive learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join our team in a long-term role starting May 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, particularly those with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role does involve planning but time will be allocated during the day to do this. 

 Key Responsibilities of a Year 1 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Year 1 students.
  • Provide firm and consistent behaviour management
  • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other staff to support the inclusion and progress of all students.
  • Utilize release time during the day to effectively plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic growth and personal development.

Requirements for Year 1 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching Year 1
  • Proven ability to effectively manage behaviour, particularly in students with SEMH SEN needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Experience in planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
