Job description
We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children make a smooth transition from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to a mixed-ability class.
Work with individuals and small groups to boost understanding in core subjects like English and Maths.
Support the development of pupils’ confidence, independence and learning behaviours.
Assist with the preparation of resources and classroom organisation.
Provide additional support for pupils with SEND or those requiring targeted interventions.
Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working across KS1 and/or lower KS2.
Be confident supporting early literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
Show flexibility and initiative in adapting to different learning needs and situations.
Be a strong team player with good communication skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
Hold a relevant Level 2/3 qualification or have equivalent experience in a primary classroom setting.
