Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children make a smooth transition from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to a mixed-ability class.

• Work with individuals and small groups to boost understanding in core subjects like English and Maths.

• Support the development of pupils’ confidence, independence and learning behaviours.

• Assist with the preparation of resources and classroom organisation.

• Provide additional support for pupils with SEND or those requiring targeted interventions.

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Have experience working across KS1 and/or lower KS2.

• Be confident supporting early literacy, phonics, and numeracy.

• Show flexibility and initiative in adapting to different learning needs and situations.

• Be a strong team player with good communication skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.

• Hold a relevant Level 2/3 qualification or have equivalent experience in a primary classroom setting.
