Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2/3 class on a long-term, temporary, ongoing basis, starting in November 2025.

Pupils feel welcome, safe, and well cared for in a kind and inclusive school community. They enjoy learning about different cultures and values, behave well, and take pride in their responsibilities. Staff support all pupils effectively, including those with SEND, helping them achieve and thrive despite changes in school attendance.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Provide classroom support to the teacher and assist with daily learning activities

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning

  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

  • Support pupils with varying needs to reach their full potential

  • Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 1 or 2

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.

  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable
