Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Year 5/6 Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking team at a wonderful school. This is an exciting opportunity to help pupils thrive as they prepare for the transition to secondary school, through high-quality teaching and strong pastoral care. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the upper KS2 curriculum

  • Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments (SATs) with confidence and care

  • Promote high expectations for all pupils, both academically and behaviourally

  • Foster independent learning, resilience, and teamwork in the classroom

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support pupil progress

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips, clubs, and school events

Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • A teacher with QTS and a strong understanding of the Year 5/6 curriculum

  • Experience in upper KS2 (desirable but not essential – ECTs are welcome to apply)

  • A clear commitment to raising standards and promoting pupil wellbeing

  • Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills as a Year 5/6 Teacher.

  • A reflective practitioner with a strong sense of teamwork
