Job description

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and challenge our upper Key Stage 2 pupils as they continue their learning journey towards Year 6 and beyond. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

  • Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and set high expectations for pupil achievement.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Support pupils’ personal, social and emotional development.

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to ensure the best outcomes for every child.

  • Contribute to the wider school community and extra-curricular activities.

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Proven experience teaching in KS2, ideally in Year 5 or Upper KS2.

  • A thorough understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.

  • High expectations of all pupils and a commitment to raising standards.

  • Strong behaviour management and organisational skills as a Year 5 Teacher.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
