Job description

An inclusive school in Hackney has asked Step Teachers to recruit a Year 5 Teacher. The position of a Year 5 teacher is a temporary position and begins in April. This school is dedicated to its cohort and works well to reflect their inspiring ethos at all time. As a Year 5 teacher you will be key in ensuring pupils work with care and positivity.

As a Year 5 teacher you must practise the following;

  • To promote the ethos and culture of the School to other staff, governors, parents, children and members of the wider community.
  • To contribute to and actively engage and encourage the overall ethos of the School.
  • To comply with, support and promote all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to child protection, equal opportunities, racial equality, health, safety and security, confidentiality, behaviour and data protection.
  • You should have a creative and thoughtful approach to curriculum planning, demonstrating the ability to incorporate national trends and data sets into your approach.

This is an inclusive school that works hard to recognise the needs of each individual. Every child should learn to understand people with different needs, circumstances and beliefs in order to enable them to develop morally, culturally and spiritually, giving them the confidence to grow in responsibility and independence, equipping them for the journey of lifelong learning.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.
