Art Teacher
Job description
Art Teacher – Full-time, temporary role for half a term from February 2026
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a setting where pupils benefit from a positive and creative learning environment. Staff work together to maintain high expectations, and learners respond well to clear routines, engaging teaching, and a supportive ethos that encourages personal and academic growth.
Duties as Art Teacher:
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging Art lessons across relevant year groups
- Prepare and supervise practical activities while maintaining high standards of safety
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and confidence in artistic expression
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, offering constructive feedback
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes participation and well-being
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and share best practice
- Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure the welfare of all pupils
Ideal Art Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Art
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the creative arts
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to differentiate lessons to meet diverse needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach to supporting pupil progress and engagement
