Biology Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join a successful Science department on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. Starting in January 2026, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable), ensuring students are motivated and supported to achieve their best.
Duties as Biology Teacher:
Plan, prepare and teach high-quality Biology lessons in line with the National Curriculum and exam board specifications.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science faculty to share best practice and resources.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, clubs, and science-related events.
Ideal Biology Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Biology or a related subject.
Experience teaching Biology at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable).
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
Excellent classroom management, organisational and communication skills as a Biology Teacher.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
