Caretaker – Full-time, temporary cover from as soon as possible, 10am to 6pm

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support a welcoming and inclusive school community. The school is committed to providing a safe, well-maintained environment where pupils can thrive. This is a full-time temporary cover role, with working hours from 10am to 6pm, starting as soon as possible.

Duties as Caretaker:

Ensure the school premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained
Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems
Open and close the school premises, ensuring security at all times
Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities
Conduct regular checks of the building and grounds
Liaise with contractors and report any major maintenance issues

Ideal Caretaker:

Previous experience in a caretaking, site management, or facilities role
Practical skills in basic maintenance, DIY, and repairs
Good understanding of health and safety procedures
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
