Design Technology Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school. The successful candidate will inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and possibly KS5), delivering engaging and practical lessons across a range of DT disciplines such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Food Technology. September 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Foster creativity, independence, and problem-solving through hands-on learning
Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop and classroom environment
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support
Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular activities within the DT department
Support the wider life of the school through clubs, events, and enrichment opportunities
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree or specialism in Design and Technology or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning
Experience teaching across a variety of DT disciplines (specialisms welcomed)
Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher.
