Job description
A dynamic and supportive secondary school is seeking an inspiring Drama Teacher to join the Performing Arts department. This is an exciting opportunity to foster creativity, confidence, and communication skills in students through engaging drama education. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Drama Teacher:
Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that develop students’ practical and theoretical drama skills
Encourage creativity, teamwork, and self-expression through performance and drama activities
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
Organise and support school productions, performances, and drama-related events
Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources
Promote drama as a key subject contributing to student confidence and wellbeing
Support and inspire students preparing for GCSE and other drama qualifications
Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities
Ideal Drama Teacher:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it
Has a degree or equivalent qualification in Drama, Theatre Studies or a related subject
Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for drama education
Has experience teaching Drama at Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is a plus)
Can motivate and engage students of varying abilities
Has strong communication and organisational skills as a Drama Teacher.
Works well collaboratively and contributes to school life beyond the classroom
