Job description

Drama Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Norwich and the surrounding areas, delivering creative and engaging Drama lessons across a range of classes.

Duties as Drama Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging Drama lessons using provided plans
  • Teach performance skills, script work, character development, and expressive arts
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and communication
  • Support practical and theory‑based learning activities
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of mixed‑ability groups
  • Assess and record pupil progress when required
  • Contribute to departmental activities during longer‑term placements

Ideal Drama Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Drama and performing arts
  • Confident behaviour management and classroom presence
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students through creative teaching
  • Flexible and adaptable across different year groups and school environments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
