Job description

Step Teachers are looking for an experienced English Teacher to work with our partner schools daily. This role is available immediately or as of October 2024.

This is a “Good” Ofsted-rated academy. The sixth form is also good. The academy has improved rapidly in the two and a half years since it opened. Staff and students agree that it is very different from the predecessor school.

As the ideal English Teacher for this role, you will:

  • As an English Teacher, you need to be able to possess a strong knowledge of the English language and English Literature curriculum at the KS3 and KS4 levels.

  • Upkeep a clean, tidy, and considerate classroom environment.

  • Display a strong, mentoring personality toward students.

  • As an English Teacher, you must be able to cultivate positive relationships with students, working to inspire good behaviour and a passion for learning.

  • Cooperate with and support your colleagues and additional classroom staff.

  • Comply with and implement the school's policies and participate in their support. educational ethos.

Requirements for an English Teacher:

  • QTS or equivalent.

  • Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching English.

  • A relevant English-related degree is desirable.
