Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive English department. The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking in young learners. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as an English Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive English lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Promote high standards of literacy, oracy, and analytical skills

  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress

  • Contribute to curriculum development and collaborative planning within the department

  • Support extra-curricular activities such as reading clubs, competitions, and school productions

  • Uphold high expectations of behaviour, effort, and achievement

Ideal English Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in English or a related subject

  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply)

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills as an Engliah Teacher.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of pupils
