English Teacher – Full-time, maternity cover from January 2026

Duties as English Teacher:

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages in line with the national curriculum
Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning
Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes a love of literature and language
Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
Maintain high standards of behaviour and implement effective classroom management strategies
Participate in meetings, training, and school events as required

Ideal English Teacher:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
Has experience teaching English at secondary level
Skilled in differentiating lessons to meet diverse learning needs
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
